Dual Credit Stakeholders

The New Mexico Dual Credit program involves many stakeholders:
Dual Credit Stakeholders include:
  • Students: The primary beneficiaries of dual enrollment, who gain access to college-level courses while still in high school.
  • High School Administrators: School principals and district leaders who oversee the implementation, coordination, and support of dual enrollment programs within their schools.
  • High School Teachers and Counselors: Teachers may assist with supporting students in the dual enrollment process, while counselors help students with course selection, academic planning, and advising on how to balance high school and college coursework.
  • College/University Administrators: These are individuals in leadership roles at the participating post-secondary institutions who help set policies, procedures, and standards for dual enrollment agreements.
  • College/University Faculty: College professors and instructors who teach dual enrollment courses and support students’ academic progress.
  • Parents/Guardians: Parents or guardians who provide support and guidance to students throughout the dual enrollment experience, ensuring they are aware of academic and financial commitments.
  • State Education Agencies: State-level departments or boards of education responsible for setting standards, regulations, and funding for dual enrollment programs.
  • Local Education Agencies: Local school districts or education boards that oversee the coordination of dual enrollment partnerships and ensure compliance with local policies.
  • College Admissions and Enrollment Offices: College staff responsible for processing applications, verifying eligibility, and maintaining student records for dual enrollment students.
  • Academic Advisors: Advisors from both the high school and college who help students choose appropriate courses, monitor progress, and provide guidance on academic and career goals.
  • Community Organizations: Local businesses, non-profits, and community groups that may partner with educational institutions to offer resources, internships, or mentorship opportunities.
  • Employers: Local employers who may benefit from a workforce that has completed college-level coursework and may also partner with educational institutions to provide career pathways or internships.
  • Legislators and Policy Makers: Government officials who shape the legal framework, funding, and policies that support or regulate dual enrollment programs.
